Frequently asked questions
Is travel insurance mandatory?
For Schengen countries, UAE (some visa types) and Cuba among others, yes — minimum cover levels apply. For everywhere else it's optional but strongly advisable for medical cover alone.
Are pre-existing conditions covered abroad?
Standard plans exclude them except life-threatening emergencies. Some insurers offer PED riders for stable, declared conditions — we'll find them for you.
What do I do in an emergency abroad?
Call the insurer's 24/7 assistance line on your policy card. For hospitalisation, they arrange cashless admission at network hospitals; otherwise keep every bill and report for reimbursement.
Does it cover trip cancellation for any reason?
Standard policies cover named reasons — illness, death in family, natural catastrophe. 'Cancel for any reason' cover exists as a premium add-on with partial reimbursement.
